Folks,
First off I’d like to personally apologize to any of you who feel this may be inappropriate. To the others, many of you are already aware my best friend from High School / College has elected to undergo double lung transplant surgery due to increasing complications surrounded with Cystic Fibrosis. I found out last night that he now currently resides number one on the waiting list. Ultimately the enormous costs surrounded with this surgery will place large financial liabilities onto his family. A number of friends and I are hoping to help alleviate these strains by throwing him a fundraising auction to be held this Sunday, February 8th. I am happy to report that the event is now completely sold out. I have created an auction manifest which can afford you the opportunity to bid on these items at the following URL: http://www.thompsoncentral.com/luiauction. If you take the time to go to the site you will notice that extremely generous gifts have been donated to the auction. As the goal of this event is to raise as much money as possible, I wanted to get the site out to as many people as possible and lend them the opportunity to participate. Although you will not be able to physically attend the event, if an item particularly strikes your fancy perform the following:
In the automated email for each item please also add what your Maximum Bid would be for the respective item.
At the event on Sunday, I will proxy on your behalf increasing the current bids in increments of $25 until you have either won the item or your maximum bid amount has been reached.
If you win, I will let you know on Tuesday and work out the best way to get you the item.
If there are any questions or concerns about this please let me know. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
I’ve also had a number of questions concerning cash donations on his behalf. This is not an official non-profit so a cash donation would not be applicable towards your taxes. However, if any of you would like to make a cash donation talk to me offline and we can work it out.
I hope everyone has a chance to get up to the site, find something they like, and ultimately participate. Thanks for your time. Cheers.
