bullshit, i said from the very begining why i think bush shouldn't have been reelected, and i stated because of the war. you guys both agreed that iraq was fucked up, but you began stating stuff about congress and british intel. i tried to make the point that it had nothing to do with intel and all that crap, that their were other intrests, and that it is not about cause but rather effect. bad choices.
"british intel SHOWED an iraqi/al qaeda link"
"chris and i agree that iraq is fcked up right now but everyone in congress, republican and democrat alike, had the same british intelligence and everyone agreed that saddam should be removed based on that intelligence. it is not bush's fault he authorized the war with both democratic and republication congressmen's blessing and then the intelligence turned out false."
and that is the point i argued from the get go. i never mentioned anything about gays, abortion, or stem cells. I simply called you on that, and said, yes, we all agreed on war and that the sandman is a bad person... but that we had a bad leader that didnt wage it correctly or follow the advice of experts.
i tried to argue one point instead of bouncing around from tax brackets to gays getting hitched.

damn, its hot in this guestbook! bush? old news now. the american citizens, well about half of them, have given him the power to do whatever the hell he likes, the viet nam-dodging, AWOL anus. the reason i feel he was re-elected... he has scared the shit out of the people in the USA telling them that the terrorists are everywhere and "they're gonna git ya if you don't vote for me to protect you!" i was stateside in july and the usual question was "how is it in europe? terrorist problems?" half the american population is just scared out of their minds. they'll put up with bush's bullshit, even the stupid ones, if mister president keeps them safe from terrorist and also providing that they're not the ones fighting it out in iraq. chris, spillane and i were all in the army. we'll admit it too - it wasn't the smartest thing that we had ever done. the guy who is arguing with spillane, hey buddy why don't you back your boy bush and go fight his war in iraq. i hear they're looking for a few good men.

my better senses tell me to let chris’s comments end the argument (what better way to end an argument than, “spillane eats poop”, but i already had my response prepared, so...
if you look at my original two posts, i mention iraq zero times. i have never used iraq as a reason to reelect president bush. if fact my first comments on iraq were, “chris and I agree the iraq is fucked up right now.” you comment that the iraq plans were developed before 9/11 and your probably right. i bet they have plans for an iran invasion, n. korea invasion, and hell a cuba invasion…but all they are are plans…what-if scenarios. i am educated enough to read the reports and understand why we went there but i am not in any position to debate the correct troop levels and security plans for a post war iraq.
speaking of the rest of the world…lets talk about the iraq’s food for oil program. germany, russia, and france were sending weapons to iraq for oil against UN sanctions. i wonder why they wouldn’t join us for the war. how much has the press covered this…and that’s US liberal media for ya.

So I watched the fcking video. After watching it, I feel it was a cut and paste job with a few quotes from a couple disgruntled employees, a few out of context quotes from cabinet members, and Washington post commentators giving their opinions. It is a biased piece…but let me tell you one thing…I 100% agree that the administration did not properly handle the aftermath of iraqi war. I think they should have kept the lower level republican guard and bathist military on payroll instead of disbanding and outlawing them. I think we should have spent more money creating jobs for the youth. What worked in afghanistan did not work in iraq. Regardless, after watching the video, would I still vote for bush…yes. ~80% of the active military vote was for bush. This discussion was not started because I 100% agree with what has gone on in iraq. Here are by beliefs and I feel bush better conveys them. I disagree with several bush policies, but he is the best of the two choices.
Energy Policy: We need to rid ourselves of the dependence of foreign oil through drilling in Alaska and development of alternate energies. We need to require all things that use energy to be more efficient (appliances, cars, air conditioners, etc.)
Gay Marriage: I agree with civil unions and the right of gay couples to get the same benefits as married couples.
Stem Cells: I don’t think stem cells should be harvested, but think we should be able to use frozen embryos that would be destroyed anyway.
Abortion: I am prochoice, but am against late term abortion unless there is an emergency.
Health Care: I am for less government, so I am against government sponsored health care. I am for health savings accounts and the ability to buy meds from Canada.
Tort Reform: I am for caps on punitive damages in most cases and caps on lawyer’s fees for medical malpractice.
Taxes: I am for a complete overhaul of the tax system and elimination of loopholes. I support either a national sales tax (those who make more, spend more, and therefore are taxed more and it encourages saving since savings is not taxed) or a reformed and simplified tiered system. I am not for a flat tax.
Social Security: I am for allowing young people to invest 3% of their contributions to an investment account. The account would have limited choices such as indexed bond and stock funds. Social security has always been a pay as you go system where your mother pays for her grandmother and it must be fixed. Kerry wants to keep it status quo.
Education: I am for accountability in education. Not all teachers should be paid the same just because they’ve been there for x years and have x education.
I think Kerry promised the world, basically what ever it took, to get elected. He was mr. “I’ve got a program” that will fix everything. He wanted more government, more healthcare, more welfare, more education, for money for a broken social security system, … I am for less government. Bush is not my ideal candidate. I consider myself a moderate republican but am a registered independent and voted to gore in 2000.

Watch the fucking video. its not a matter of going to war and what is right and wrong but HOW we went to war... I am telling you, I am well read on this and when you have every experienced general opposed to the plans set forth, and mind you these guys are experts, and the president going on the advice of three individuals (non experienced) and not taking the advice from the one person in his cabinet who knows best... it is obvious that we did it wrong... therefore the president himself made the wrong decision, you can argue it anyway you want, but he took credit for it in the beginning he needs to take credit for it now.
Baghdad alone is second in size only to New York City, with a large geographic area. Every general at the time said we needed at least 200,000 up to 500,000 to secure Iraq, of course we could take it with 50,000 and a few smart bombs but the failure was our exit plan... let me explain a PROVEN military doctrine and how we didn’t follow it.
-Is a vital US interest at stake?
-Will we commit sufficient resources to win?
-Are the objectives clearly defined?
-Will we sustain the commitment?
-Is there reasonable expectation that the public (International as well as National) and Congress will support the operation?
-Have we exhausted our other options?
So let me explain my opinion in full. I believe our president is a fucking cowboy who listened a little too much Sinatra and decided to do things his way, and in total disregard and advice from experts around him. In turn he committed troops, resources and money, (my money as well as yours) to this. There is no doubt about his arrogant negligence; it is all there, public domain for the world to see. So we the people have the option to vote him out, and earlier this month we stood in lines to caste that vote, but wankers such as yourself with low self-esteem find his balls to the wall don’t give a shit about what other people think attitude appealing. When we entered Baghdad 70 percent of the Iraqis populous were in consent, now only 2 percent are in favor. Free Iraq, these people want us dead. If they were truly free they would kick us the fuck out of there. now we are in a race to train as many Iraqis as possible and pull out (lack of an exit plan see doctrine above) before our reserve dries up, (we have a volunteer army and nobody thinks it is a good idea to sign up right now) and if that happens my friend, for the first time since Vietnam we will have a draft. I served my country and so has Chris, are you ready?
The bottom line is, if you are going to commit troops to a cause, make sure it is the right cause, and it was the right cause, but also be responsible enough to make sure we commit them in the safest way we know how. And president Bush didn’t. so you can argue the cause all you want but start to argue the effects of that cause while you are at it.

so, in your opinion, we should just pack our bags and haul ass? sorry for destroying your country but we got in a little over our heads and the pressue is building at home. yeah, and about those promises of new schools, roads, etc...not gonna happen.
we leave now and iraq becomes an even bigger breeding ground for terrorist...possibly civil war...
